Population size

Population size的意思是总人口数。

它不分性别、不分年龄、不分民族，只要是有独立的生命活动就包含在人口总数之内。人口总数是人口统计中最基本的指标。标准人口总数，对于了解国情国力，制订人口计划和经济、社会发展计划，进行人口科学研究，都有十分重要的意义。
