The last day I spent with my grandmother when she last remembered who I was. She developed Alzheimer’s about 10 years ago, and being the selfish, dumb 19 year old I was I decided that moving 8 hours away to avoid watching her slowly deteriorate would help me. And then on Thanksgiving of 2014, when I was living half way across the country, she died. To this day I regret the decision to leave her behind, and if I could spend one day on constant repeat, it would be with her, forever.
