A Texas woman who found an egg the size of a baseball in her chicken coop, cracked it open to find another full egg Inside, AP reported.

Earlier this week, Cookie Smith of Abilene found what she called the "mutant super egg", one inch longer and triple the weight of a regular hen's egg.

据美联社报道，本周早些时候，艾利比尼的库奇•史密斯发现了这枚“基因突变的超级蛋”，它比普通的鸡蛋长一英寸，重量却是普通蛋的三倍。

She initially took pictures of the egg and showed photos to her co-workers at an Abilene hospital.

She cracked it open only after a photographer accompanied her home. Inside was a large yolk and another intact normal-sized egg.

Smith says she knows the eggs may have been OK to eat, but she chose to pass on that.
