When we last heard about the next project from Academy Award winning director Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), A-list actor Tom Hanks was being sought to possibly join the project. At the time, it seemed like the project known as Triple Frontier would be changing its title to Sleeping Dogs instead. While a recent ComingSoon interview with producer Charles Roven didn't clear up the confusion, it was officially revealed that Hanks is officially signed on to the project. Roven said, "Tom Hanks is starring in the film, and we're still looking to cast the other roles. We're hoping to start shooting the movie sometime in mid-March."

As for the title, apparently Roven referred to the project as Triple Frontier throughout the interview, but for those involved with the project, the original title often sticks in their minds even if it happens to change down the road. One thing that hasn't changed is the gritty story which is a high-stakes ensemble project that is set in the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil (" la triple frontera"), an area that is difficult to monitor and a haven for organized crime. Hanks has one of two major lead roles in a story that will follow five different men of various ages working in the hostile area. Rumors have previously mentioned names like Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Will Smith, but those actors are on every film's wishlist. Stay tuned for more.
