n. 独角兽；麒麟

Unicorn一般意义是指神话中似马前额有直角的动物。而在商界投资行业（investment industry），尤其是风险投资业（venture capital industry），独角兽有另一番含义。

“独角兽企业”（Unicorn Company）这个概念由风险投资家Aileen Lee于2013年提出，一般指成立时间不超过10年、估值超过10亿美元的未上市创业公司。

截止2020年2月，我国排名靠前的独角兽企业有蚂蚁金服（Ant Financial Services Group）、字节跳动（ByteDance）、滴滴出行（Didi Chuxing）等等。

我们来看2个例句：

A new report by CB Insights says ByteDance is the world’s largest unicorn company by valuation.

CB Insights发布的一份新报告称，字节跳动是全球估值首位的独角兽公司。

It reportedly turned a profit in June 2019, a feat in the world of loss-making unicorns.
