Liz受邀参加皇家动物保护协会的演说，Jon却因为自己的告白失败而闷闷不乐，决意随行至London再次告白。Garfield一边数落Jon的痴情表现，一边暗暗盘算着怎样混去London大饱眼福——当然，还有好好祭祭自己的五脏庙。看来家家有本难念的经啊。本期的五个句子都是日常生活中的常用句子，一起来看看。

（1）I will send your regards to the queen.我会代你问候女王的。

——Liz要去London访问，并没有注意到Jon的告白意图，真是好事多磨。Regard除了“看待, 当作”的意思以外还有“关心，注意，尊敬”的意思，如：He has high regard for your work.他十分敬重你的工作。又如：Give the family my best regards. 祝您全家幸福。

（2）Oh, you poor sap. 哦，你这个大白痴。

——Jon准备追去London向Liz告白的举动在Garfield眼中实在没有什么意义，或许它只关心美食和卫星电视吧。Sap是“笨人，傻子”的意思，或许不是很常用，表示这个意思的单词还有：dolt——“呆子，傻瓜，笨蛋”；idiot——“白痴，愚人，傻瓜”；fool是常用的一个词，例如：I was a fool to have refused the job. 我真傻，拒绝了那份工作。此外，关于fool还有个重要的短语：fool around，表示“瞎逛，到处混，无所事事”，如：Stop fooling around！别整天无所事事的瞎逛！又如：He was fooling around with some figures in hopes of balancing the budget. 他懒散地算着数字，希望能收支平衡。

（3）You moron. 你没得救了。

——Jon对Liz一往情深，哪里会理会Garfield的反对呢？Moron常用于口语，意思是“低能者，笨人”。掌握这个短小精悍的句子，下次碰到意志顽固到令你无奈的人时，你可以卖弄出去。

（4）England is no great shakes, huh? 哼，英国也不怎么样嘛。

——Garfield以为自己到了London，事实上它正在被送往猫狗收容所，看来这一次Jon不准备带着这个大麻烦去London了。No great shakes是俚语，意思是“Unexceptional, ordinary.非例外的；普通的”。Louis Auchincloss说过，“stepping in between the victim and the bully, even when the victim happens to be no great shakes”意为“即使受害者是普通百姓，我们也应保护受害者不受恶霸欺侮”。

（5）If you could give him a pan of lasagna between each meal, that would be great. 两顿饭之间最好给它吃一盘意大利面。

——Jon在细心叮嘱工作人员好好照顾Garfield的同时，Garfield已经成功“越狱”了。使用that would be great的表达法让句子增色不少，这里再送给大家一个类似的对话：
