We're off. Off we go. 出去旅游。

off 在这里表示的是出发或是离开的意思。

I don't have to work today.= I am off today. 今天我不用去上班。

如果比较这两句的话是不是用off更简洁呢？

We're off today. 今天我们不开张。

off 还可以表示“某家店不开张”。

She lives off campus. 她住在校外。

I want to move off campus. 我想搬出校住。

那么住在校内呢？对了，on campus.

Off my sofa. 给我从沙发上下来。

不过完整的说法应该是：Keep off/keep away from my sofa.

Tell them the whole thing is off. 告诉他们整件事已经取消了。

off 表示“取消”。

on and off: 分分合合

I and Ross have been on and off, on and off; but I feel someday we'll be on. 我和Ross分分合合不知多少次了，但我总觉得有一天我们又能在一起了。

记得Rachel说过这样的话吗？那么从上句可以看出on-and-off relationship指的就是分分合合的恋情。

I'm off to bed right now. 我现在要去睡觉了。

可以不用go to bed哦！
