舌尖上的美国(37):取消约会

在之前的节目中我们谈到过如何进行预约，那么今天来我们来看看如何取消或改变：

A:I'm calling about your h has to cancel all his appointments because he's got something urgent to attend to. (现在打电话是预约的事，史密斯因为有事处理不得不取消所有约会.)

B:When can I go to see him? (我什么时候可以去见他呢?)

A:Anytime except se give him a call before you come. (除了今天什么时候都行,来都给他打个电话.)

B:OK. (可以.)

Notice：当你和别人约好做一件事情，但是后来又想取消，该怎么说呢？Scratch这个词可以帮你的忙。Scratch在词典里的解释是"用指甲或是爪子去刮；涂鸦、随手乱画"。在口语上，scratch something便衍生为"取消"或"删除"原来的计划。再说得简单一些，scratch这个用法跟我们常讲的forget这个词十分类似。例如本来约好明天要去看电影，但你临时想取消，这时你可以说，"Let's forget it."或是换句话说"Let's scratch the plan."

A:Will you be available on Saturday or Sunday?(你星期六或星期天有空吗？)

B:Scratch the Saturday thing. I'll be available only on Sunday evening. (星期六我不行，我只有星期天晚上可以)

这句话完全就等于"Forget about Saturday. I'll be available only on Sunday evening."

变更约会日期

1. I’d like to cancel my appointment with Mr. Scott.我想取消和史考特先生的约会。

2. Something urgent has come up. Could I postpone our appointment.发生了一些急事。我俩的约会能不能延期？

3. May I ask you to postpone the meeting until the day after tomorrow?可以要求你将会面时间延到后天吗？

hedule的用法（重新安排，另约时间）

I may not have enough time in the coming few months, so let's reschedule the classes later.接下来几个月我可能没有足够的时间，所以关于上课我们以后另约时间吧。

5.一些与老外约时间和因故另约时间的英语表达

1) Can we meet at 5pm tomorrow at the gate of Donghua University?明天下午5点我们在东华大学门口碰面好吗？

2) Today's appointment is cancelled due to the heavy rain.由于雨太大今天的约会取消了。

3) Can we postpone the meeting to 7pm as I feel sick now?我们把会议延期到晚上7点好吗？我现在觉得不舒服。

4) I can take that job as I have pretty many free time slots in the evenings.我可以做那个工作因为我现在晚上很空。
