英语中如何表达放手的意思

本短语中的 let go of 应视作完整的及物动词，等于 release，均表“释放”。

理论上，let go of 是由 let your hand go of (此处 of 等于from) 演变而成，实际上却只能使用 let go of 这个短语。例如：

Let go of my hand, or I'll call the police.

= Release my hand, or I'll call the police.

(放开我的手，否则我要报警了。)

As soon as the policeman let go of him, the boy ran away.

(警察一把这男孩放开，他就跑了。)

Don't let go of the rope until I tell you to.

(在我没叫你松手之前，你不要放松那绳子。)

补充：let go of something后面也可以接抽象的事物，of something可以省略。

It's time to let go of the past.
